SCHOOL FEE GRANTS
The Trust makes grants towards fees at boarding schools, both independent and state, and fees at independent day schools. In the year ended 31st March 2008, we made 371 such grants, totalling £767,000. These grants provide assistance for those children whose educational needs cannot be met within the state system or whose family circumstances necessitate a boarding education.

If, for instance, your child is struggling to survive in the state education system and also experiencing other social/family problems, financial support to attend school in the independent sector may be a lifeline.

Sometimes, for a wide variety of reasons, the only option open to some children, other than going into public care, is to be given financial assistance with the cost of independent day school or boarding school.
